Joe Romm posts at Think Progress today of the most offensive things that I have ever seen! Heartland Institute Compares Climate Science Believers And Reporters To Mass ‘Murderers And Madmen’ There must be 120 plus scientists throughout the world that must be pretty pissed off right now! For the Heartland Insititute to say something like this is just beyond belief!
Oh, but Heartland wants you to know that not every single climate scientist — nor every member of the over 120 governments who sign off on the IPCC assessment reports nor every reporter who writes accurately — is like a psychopath:
Of course, not all global warming alarmists are murderers or tyrants.
Seriously. And yet they write:
The people who still believe in man-made global warming are mostly on the radical fringe of society. This is why the most prominent advocates of global warming aren’t scientists. They are murderers, tyrants, and madmen.
Andrew Sullivans comments at The Daily Beast are great!
UPDATE: Andrew Sullivan comments on the billboard at The Daily Beast:
In some ways, this is an almost perfect illustration of what has happened to the “right.” A refusal to acknowledge scientific reality; and a brutalist style of public propaganda that focuses entirely on guilt by the most extreme association….
Mann and Ornstein are correct. Large sections of the American right are now close to insane as well as depraved. And there is no Buckley to rein them in. Just countless Jonah Goldbergs seeking to cash in. (my emphasis added)
I tell you isn’t it nice to know that America does not belong to Americans, rather Pat Robertson tells us : America ‘Belongs to Jesus’ So do you think he’s proud of the way we’re running his country, you know with all that do unto others as they would do unto you stuff, and you know the meek shall inherit the earth and it’s easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle thing!! Do you think he’s for or against the antibullying bill?
Bow why this lead me to this Dick Gregory story I don’t know but it just popped into my head!!
Good evening ladies and gentlemen. I understand there are a good many Southerners in the room tonight. I know the South very well. I spent twenty years there one night.
Last time I was down South I walked into this restaurant and this white waitress came up to me and said, “We don’t serve colored people here.” I said, “That’s all right. I don’t eat colored people. Bring me a whole fried chicken.”
Then these three white boys came up to me and said, “Boy, we’re giving you fair warning. Anything you do to that chicken, we’re gonna do to you”. So I put down my knife and fork, I picked up that chicken and I kissed it. Then I said, “Line up, boys!”.
