Today in Music – Happy Birthday John, Buddy, Loudon and Al!

John Stewart

Ok so I find, first, that I am pressed for time and it’s hard to post in the morning, and second that I’m starting my second year writing about artist;s birthday’s, so here’s a post from last year. I did notice though that today is also Al Stewart’s birthday. So Happy 68th and 67th Al and Loudon respectively and Buddy and John we still miss you guys and have a great day wherever you are!

So today is the birthday of three artists that appear in my music collection. First in 1939 John Stewart was born. John wrote the big hit “Daydream Believer” for the Monkees, but for me nothing beats “Willard”. (The album Wiillard is an all time favorite. It an Album Pick at AllMusic. Check it Out)Then in 1946 both Buddy Miles of The Electric Fag, Hendrix and the Band of Gypsies, and The Buddy Miles Express, and Loudon Wainwright III were born.

Last year, for the morning music, I was going to use “Daydream Believer” but that has over a million views, then Buddy Miles, but I couldn’t find any live footage with Hendrix, so I settled on this song “My Meds” from Loudon Wainwright’s most recent album Older than Man Old Man Now. But how about this year, we give that “Daydream Believer” a listen, performed by John Stewart!!
