Damn that Music – Full Speed Ahead

Ok so tonight after a long day that included a wedding shower for my son’s fiancé, I was beat and didn’t feel like running. But after a short nap I felt better, so I put the mp3 player on random and recently added and took off on a run, I intended to limit the run to four miles! Well the mix tended to be mostly new blues through the first two miles and included a couple tracks from The Insomniacs ” Directly From My Heart To You” and “Broke and Lonely” and a track from Sean Chambers a Florida bluesman who I’ve been listening to this week but haven’t written about yet “I Still Love You” Stay tuned for more about Sean and two from New Monsoon’s album New Monsoon V  “Neon Block” and “The Other Side”  and as I was finishing the third mile going uphill on Pancoast Ave. listening to Anders Osborne (another artist who has been on the mp3 player this week) “Killing Each Other” I was contemplating whether to make the normal right hand turn at Fairview and go downhill and end my run in another 9 minutes or so or turn left go uphill and tack on another 1.5 miles total to my four mile run!  Well “I’m Ready” from Nick Moss and the Flat Tops with Lurrie Bell came on and I said what the hell and turned left and the run turned into a 5.5 mile run! Over the last 2.5 miles more blues came on with more tracks from Sean Chambers and The Insomniacs and ended with “I’ll Treat You Right” from Nick Moss and the Flat Tops. The run ended in 51:59 and I was glad that “I’m Ready” had come on!!

Here’s one from Sean Chambers!

And while I was looking for Sean Chambers I found this video of Hubert Sumlin with some pretty good blues guys doing a favorite song of mine “Killing Floor”
