From Mitch Rapp to John Prine a long work day!!

So today was one of those long work days, it started at 7 AM and ended after 11:30! But there’s always a little time for music when driving to and from workplaces and also a little time for reading while I watched water not drain out of percolation test holes. Since I didn’t want to take a library book in the field I picked up a paperback, one of the books in Vince Flynn’s Mitch Rapp series that I am behind in, Consent to Kill so far so good. I enjoy this series but have gotten behind and have attempted to start this book several times never getting very far!

I listened again to and will probably write about it tomorrow Caleb Stine’s album I Wasn’t Built for This Life. I like this album more and more every time I listen to it!!

Then there was the music to an from Target, I nice little six pack plus one…..that Started of with “Albert’s Alley” from the album Showdown featuring Albert Collins, Robert Cray and Johnny Copeland a great album, “Those Words We Said” from Kim Richey was next, Kim is another of those artists who I should listen to more, always like her stuff when I hear it. The next song was a long one that started on the way to work and ended on the way back “It’s My own Fault” from Robbin Ford’s album Discovering the Blues some great guitar and piano on this track from a really good album. Next was Amy Winehouse’s “Rehab” covered by Keller and the Kells good stuff! Livingston Taylor popped up next with “Hush-a-bye” a favorite song from his self titled debut album which is in my top ten all time favorites. I think maybe I’ll have to formally make a list! A Bill Morrisey album may be on the list, but tonight I” heard “Big Leg Ida” from You’ll Never Get to Heaven followed by Clay Pigeons from John Prine’s Fair and Square album another album that should get more air time!!

So it was a long day with some good reading and music and now it’s time to recharge the iPod and myself and get ready for another round tomorrow! But only one job!!
