As I said yesterday, the weather was a little cooler in this week in Williamsburg than last year. As a result the opportunity to run was there, but I hadn’t taken my running stuff! So I all could do was feel jealous as I watched people run by. I love running in Williamsburg not only through the campus in the early morning hours, but there’s also a nice loop around Kiwanis Park! If I had set out running west along Richmond Road I would have passed the new Qboda Mexican Grill where we had dinner Thursday night!
Anyway when it was cooler this afternoon I put the iPod on shuffle and recently added and set out for a run. I kept the run fairly short just over 3 miles and the pace was just over 10 minute per mile pace. My knee felt and still feels pretty good. Looking at the weather forecast for the week it appears that the temperatures may stay in the mid to low 80s all week so maybe I can get a couple of runs in! Anyway here’s the music mix
1. “Rescue” – The Waifs – Live from Union of the Soul – I have never listened to The Waifs before putting this album on the iPod. Some of the tracks I like others not so much!
2. “Turn of the Wheel” – James Keelaghan – another great song from Keelaghan.
3. “Mother Hubbard’s Blues” – Ray Wylie with a song about his wife – Judy who is Mother Hubbard!
4. “Rosa” – Chris O’Brien – I just re-ripped this album and this is the great opening track on his album Lighthouse
5. Intro for Norman Blake – Live at McCabes – only the intro!
6 .”Mexican Home” – John Pine always good to hear this track from Sweet Revenge!
7. “Europe on $15 dollars a day” – from the Blind Corn Liquor Pickers self titled album again a great opening track!
8′ “A Good Fool is Hard to Find” – Tommy Castro from the album Painkiller another album just re-ripped – good to hear again – now my wife my say I wasn’t hard to find!
9. “Sexy Bakery Girl” – Hot Buttered Rum – another song that I haven’t heard for a while I enjoy this bad some good stuff! This album Limbs Akimbo
10. “The River’s Own” Chris Knight – If you’ve never heard Knight’s music check him out some great story sounds about lots of people from the wrong sides of the tracks.
So while it wasn’t Williamsburg it was a good run and the music mix included lots of tracks I haven’t heard for a while!
Here’s one of Chris’ darker story songs “Down River”
